The Pattern

Meet the Ones and Zeroes Cardigan: the statement piece your wardrobe has been waiting for!

This eye-catching design features a clever geometric stitch that looks like a series of zeroes on one side and ones on the other, giving you two distinct looks in one. Fully reversible and effortlessly stylish, it’s as fun to show off as it is to make. Designed with an approachable drop-shoulder construction, comfortable V-neck shaping, and dramatic bishop sleeves, this cardigan is wearable, versatile, and guaranteed to turn some heads!

The Ones and Zeroes stitch is one of 50 reversible stitch patterns from my upcoming book, Interlocking Crochet, so think of this cardigan as your first look inside. The book arrives May 26, 2026, and pre-order links are waiting for you here!

Yarn spotlight

A huge thank you to my friends at Punk Rock Unicorn Yarns from Germany for so generously providing the yarn for my sample! The cardigan is shown in their Soul DK base, in “Cold Fusion” as the main color and “Dreamer” as the contrast color. It’s a dream to work with, and the colors together are just chef’s kiss. You can shop their full range at pruyarns.de!

A word from my testers

I found the pattern to be very easy once I understood the technique. It’s a beautiful pattern that really comes to life when using complimenting colors. This was my first time using interlocking crochet and completing one of Ana-Maria’s patterns and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Several of my Instagram followers have already told me they’ll be making their own once the pattern is live! I’d love to make another one in different colors. Thank you so much for the opportunity to test!

I really enjoyed this pattern! Once I got comfortable with the stitch pattern, making the different components for the cardigan was easy (I just used my row counters to help me track how many rows I had done and which particular row in the stitch pattern I had completed). I love how the stitch pattern works up and am looking forward to making an accessory to go with my cardigan in the future!

Love the cardigan! The balloon sleeves with those tight cuffs are my favorite part, it’s such a cool contrast!

Size 1, using 1093 yds of Big Twist Value Pound+ as MC, and 950 yds of Big Twist Value Pound+ as CC
