Brick by Brick Raglan

The Pattern
Inspired by classic brickwork, this tee it is a lightweight raglan worked from the top down, with an overlay colorwork motif that is worked entirely with one color at a time. The boxy, semi-cropped silhouette makes it an easy layering piece as the seasons shift. Pick two high-contrast colors and let the pattern do the rest.
Though the motif visually resembles bricks, the stitches are mostly worked in the back loop only, making the fabric feel incredibly lightweight with beautiful drape. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at this quick slow-motion clip – I think it perfectly captures the incredible drape of this piece and should put an end to all that “crochet is not for garments” non-sense 😍
As always, my number one priority is to make my designs accessible for every body, so I graded this pattern for a whopping 14 sizes, with the finished bust circumference ranging from 34.5 to 66.5 inches (or 87.5 to 169 cm). The sizing for this pattern is based on the standard Craft Yarn Council (CYC) measurements.
This tee is designed to be worn with 2.5–4.5 inches (6–11 cm) of positive ease around the bust.
All my garment patterns are size-inclusive and are graded for actual bust circumferences of up to at least a 60 inches or 152 cm.

Singles by Punk Rock Unicorn Yarns (100% Virgin Merino Wool, 400 yds / 366 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein), in “Schnee” as the main color and “Aqua Glow” as the contrast color.
The swirl effect in the brick color occurred naturally as a result of working with this gorgeous hand-dyed yarn by PRU. If you want to use a yarn with a similar dye pattern but prefer to not have a swirl effect in your tee, I recommend working with two different skeins and alternating them every other CC round. I used this technique when crocheting my Gridlock Jumper sample which you can see here.
Hooks
US C-2 / 3.0 mm hook or size needed to obtain gauge. I’m a tight crocheter, so you may have to go down in hook size.

Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure to measure your body, rigid ruler to measure your swatch, 4 locking stitch markers.
