The Pattern

The Wavelength Jumper is one of those projects that finds its rhythm early on. A slow and steady kind of make that rewards you with a fabric full of movement and depth.

The reversible stitch pattern is what makes this design truly magical. Waves flow smoothly in one direction on one side, then reverse course when the fabric is turned over, creating a captivating color inversion effect where each color takes turns to dominate either side.

Once you’ve settled into the zigzag pattern, the stitches begin to flow almost on their own, turning what looks intricate into something wonderfully intuitive. The clean, paneled construction gives the sweater a modern, structured shape while keeping the process approachable and methodical. Soft bishop sleeves and ribbed cuffs add a touch of refinement without overcomplicating the design.

Whether you wear it casually or dress it up, it’s a sweater that feels as good as it looks. And if you love the wave motif as much as I do, you’ll definitely want to check out the matching Wavelength Hooded Cowl for a coordinated set!

Corley (cagroves92 on Ravelry)

Size 3, using 1225.6 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow Solid as MC, and 819.6 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as CC
Hook size(s): 3 mm; 3.5 mm
Mods: None.

Alicia (Musiqstr on Ravelry)

Hook size(s): 3.5 mm; 4 mm; 4.5 mm; 4.25mm
Mods: I made my sleeve patterns a little longer (4 extra rows, making it a total of six repeats).

Isha (ishcrochets on Ravelry)

Size 3, using 1036 yds of Loops and Threads Luxe Merino In Bridal Rose as MC, and 836 yds of Loops and Threads Luxe Merino In Raindrops as CC
Hook size(s): 4 mm
Mods: I made my sweater cropped.

Johanna (HookYarnTinker on Ravelry)

Size 1, using 772 yds of Crocheted by Carisse Fine Cotton Ombre Yarn as MC, and 730 yds of Crocheted by Carisse Fine Cotton Yarn Mix as CC
Hook size(s): 3.5 mm
Mods: None.

Adinda (Javabel on Ravelry)

Size 2, using 1068 yds of Drops Safran as MC, and 692 yds of Hobbii Frutta as CC
Hook size(s): 3.5 mm
Mods: I added 4 extra rows on each shaping panel, before the split on the front panel and before the decrease rows on the back panel. I added more rows on cuff ribbing to fit. Did this by working 2 SLST in the same SC for a total of 5 times. A bigger hook size (4.0 mm) was used for the shaping panels. The main hook (3.5 mm) was used for all ribbing. It’s due to the MC being sport weight, so using smaller hook would make the ribbing too tight.

Shu-Wen (ShuWenT on Ravelry)

Size 2, using 1230 yds of Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co Enemies To Lovers (85/15 Swm/Nylon Dk) in Indulge Your Curiosity as MC, and 812 yds of Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co Enemies To Lovers (85/15 Swm/Nylon Dk) in Deep Sea Daddy as CC
Hook size(s): 4 mm; 4.5 mm; 5 mm
Mods: I decided to do my seaming a bit differently. From the WS, I started by only seaming the MC layers of the colorwork panels together using the MC tails that were leftover as indicated in the pattern, then I seamed the CC layers together using extra CC yarn (also from the WS).

Maddie (maddieb17 on Ravelry)

Size 3, using 1170 yds of Baby Bee Sweet Delight as MC, and 1420 yds of Yarn Bee Chromatic Spectrum as CC
Hook size(s): 4 mm; 4.5 mm
Mods: None.

Sandra (spdsv on Ravelry)

Size 4, using 1284 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow Solid as MC, and 766 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as CC
Hook size(s): 3 mm
Mods: None.

Katarzyna (theskippinghare on Ravelry)

Size 4, using 1425 yds of Scheepjes Terrazzo as MC, and 956 yds of Scheepjes Terrazzo as CC
Hook size(s): 3 mm; 3.5 mm

Mods: None.

Sara (labyrinthal on Ravelry)

Size 5, using 1463 yds of Hobbii Amigo as MC, and 1009 yds of Yarnaceous Fibers Bronto Dk as CC
Hook size(s): 3.5 mm; 4 mm; 5.5 mm
Mods: I didn’t cinch the sleeve cuff as tight because doing 2 slip stitch every time was making it look too gapey so I occasionally only did 1. In the future, I would add a little length to both the sleeves and the body mostly owing to personal preference.

Bee (BeesBusyFingers on Ravelry)

Size 6, using 1475 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow Solid as MC, and 894 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as CC
Hook size(s): 4 mm; 4.5 mm; 3.75 mm
Mods: None.

Kahla (kahlamarie on Ravelry)

Size 3, using 766 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow Solid as MC, and 1130 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as CC
Hook size(s): 3.5 mm; 4 mm
Mods: None.

Megan (mteast02 on Ravelry)

Size 4, using 1340 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as MC, and 850 yds of Hobbii Winter Glow as CC
