“This is such a cute pattern.

I love the added detail of the leaf and tendril, which definitely makes this pattern stand out!”

The design

Just like its namesake, the No Slip Stitch Given Pumpkin involves (almost) no slip stitches.

Do you love the faux-knit look that the slip stitch pattern creates, but hate how long it takes to work up? Me too! So, I came up with this super-duper easy pumpkin design which works up quickly and hassle-free, like you just don’t give a slip stitch!

You’ll first work the body of the pumpkin flat, then you’ll join the two short edges together to form a tube. Easy peasy! The leaf design will pique your interest with its clever short-row-like construction, and the tendrils and stem will bring a realistic touch.

“I found the clear, close-up pictures very helpful. I also like how you used different colors for the different sizes. It made it easier to follow.”

–Heather @heather.glaze

The pattern

This pattern is mainly worked in half double crochet in the back third loop only (HDC in BTLO). The pumpkins are worked as a flat piece which is then seamed, stuffed and cinched at the bottom and top. The leaf, tendrils, and stems are worked separately and attached to the pumpkin.

Like most CrochetHighway patterns, the No Slip Stitch Given Pumpkin comes with step-by-step instructions and tutorial photos.

The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, but you can pick whichever yarn weight you want. Pair it with an appropriate hook size and enjoy the endless customization possibilities!
