The design
The fitted legwarmers: This style is designed to fit snugly both around your calf and ankle. Wear them on top of leggings with both low- and high-top shoes.
The oversized legwarmers: This style is meant to sit securely around your calf but hug your boots in an effortless & casual style. Wear them over leggings or jeans with ankle boots or high heels.
The boot cuffs: These are shorter in height and only have one ribbed band, worn at the top or bottom. Easily adjustable, wear them around your calf with knee-high boots, or around your ankle with ankle boots.
The Pattern
Never let your feet freeze again with these stylish legwarmers and boot cuffs! One pattern, three different ways to style your boots – your legs will thank you! Choose from a fitted legwarmer to tuck under your boot for warmth and utility, go for the oversized style to really make a statement whilst keeping warm from calf to ankle, or take a few hours off and whip up a pair of boot cuffs – these literally work up in no time.
All three styles are conveniently written in the same pattern – you just follow the steps for your chosen style.
You start with a ribbed band, beautifully framed by rounds of faux-knit stitches on both edges. Then, you’ll go around this band to create the body in the alpine stitch pattern, incorporating the signature horizontal ribbing of the #CosmopolitanCrochetCollection. Gradual decreases are added for a gentle shaping on the fitted legwarmer, but you can pick your favorite from a variety of styles all written in the same pattern!
MEASUREMENTS
Circumference at calf: 8.75 (10.25, 12.25, 13.25) (14.25, 15.25, 16.25) inches or 22 (26, 31, 33.5) (36, 38.75, 41.25) cm
Circumference at ankle: 6 (7, 7, 8) (9, 10, 11) inches or 15 (17.5, 17.75, 20.25) (22.75, 25.5, 28) cm
DIFFICULTY

MATERIALS
• Yarn: 100-850 yds or 91-777 m of any fingering / sport / DK weight yarn you can meet gauge with. My samples use Scheepjes Stone Washed in Blue Apatite and Axinite.
• Hooks: 3.5 mm and 5 mm, or sizes needed to obtain gauge. I like to use my Clover Amour hooks.
• Notions: Tape measure, scissors, darning needle, stitch markers

Legwarmers (fitted): 135 (185, 455, 465) (480, 500, 510) m or 145 (200, 495, 510) (525, 545, 560) yds.
Legwarmers (oversized): 165 (230, 685, 710) (730, 755, 775) m or 180 (250, 750, 775) (800, 825, 850) yds.
Boot cuffs: 90 (105, 190, 195) (205, 210, 220) m or 100 (115, 210, 215) (225, 230, 240) yds.
